The following 12 priorities were developed in 1997 by a Task Force comprising merchants, boaters, residents and representatives from the City of Dana Point and the County of Orange. The group's goal was to begin planning the Dana Point Harbor of tomorrow. Led by Supervisor Tom Wilson, 5th District, the Task Force established these 12 Plan Priorities, which have been-and will continue to be-the guiding principles for the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Plan.
Keep the Harbor's character and family atmosphere.
Harbor structures need a facelift/renovation.
Maintain a full service Harbor.
Do not commercialize the Island.
Ensure future of Yacht Clubs.
Improve water quality.
Better utilization of existing parking.
Address overall mix of land uses.
Need more parking in commercial area.
Keep existing parkland, beach and landscape.
Balance of revenue and non-revenue land uses.
Need restroom/showers near docks.
